Blue Lane Technologies' Allwyn Sequeira to Speak at Next Generation Data Center

FRAMINGHAM, MA. – June 25, 2007 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of tradeshows and events around the globe has announced that Allwyn Sequeira, Senior Vice President of Product Operations at Blue Lane Technologies, will be speaking at the inaugural Next Generation Data Center™ Conference & Expo (NGDC™). The event, taking place August 6-9, 2007 at the Moscone Center, will focus on new technologies and their impact on the data center, including the increasingly important topic of security within the data center. Sequeira's session, "Virtualization and Security: Myths and Realities" will be held Thursday August 9 from 2 to 3 PM.

This session will cover the impact of virtualization on security for production environments and how to use the power of virtualization to enhance server security. While server sprawl, VMotion and more varied data stacks introduce more security challenges for production environments the hypervisor layer may present the most powerful opportunity to secure the data center from network attacks.

Mr. Sequeira is Senior Vice President of Product Operations at Blue Lane Technologies, responsible for managing the overall product life cycle, from concept through research, development and test, to delivery and support. Mr. Sequeira is a recognized expert in data networking, with twenty five years of experience in the industry, and has been a featured speaker at industry leading forums like Interop, Next Generation Networks, ISP Con and RSA Conference.

"A combination of increasing risks from network security attacks and the need for data center consolidation is causing data center managers to enlist a more aggressive and integrated approach to the data center network infrastructure," said Melinda Kendall, VP and General Manager, Next Generation Data Center. " The Data Center Security sessions at NGDC will examine new paradigms, such as virtualized security appliances and network access control, as well as traditional approaches to data center security."

NGDC focuses on new technologies and their impact on the data center, covering mission-critical applications and the technology supporting those applications including storage, servers, networking and communications. Targeted to many types of data center professionals, ranging from IT architects, to system administrators, to application and information administrators, NGDC will help IT Pro's identify the right products and services to add to their end-to-end solutions as they adapt to ever-increasing needs for flexibility, scalability and performance with reduced risk and complexity.
